For us, Motorhotel Lindental in Bad Bertrich is one of those places.
The journey begins before you arrive
By now, it’s become a tradition. Once a year, a group of friends and I head towards the Eifel for a weekend on the motorcycles. And although there are plenty of hotels and guesthouses scattered throughout the region, we somehow keep returning to the same place.
Tucked away in the valley of the Ueßbach stream, Lindental sits quietly between the green hills of the Eifel. Even the ride there feels like part of the experience. From one direction, the road descends steeply into Bad Bertrich, passing through two tunnels before the village suddenly appears. From the other side, the route winds through forested valleys, offering just enough corners to set the tone for the days ahead.
More than just a motorcycle hotel
As the name suggests, Lindental welcomes motorcyclists. Yet it never feels like the stereotypical biker hotel. There are no loud clubs competing for attention and no endless stories about horsepower at the bar.
Instead, the atmosphere is relaxed and surprisingly diverse. Couples passing through, friends searching for the next beautiful road, or riding groups exploring the Eifel together. Somehow, everyone seems to feel at home here.
Perhaps that’s exactly what makes the place so special.
A welcome you’ll remember
Upon arrival, owner Adrie is often already waiting with a smile. A cold beer, a soft drink or a glass of Moselle wine appears almost immediately, usually accompanied by a well-timed joke.
They’re small gestures, but those are often the things that stay with you longest.
After a day on the road
While the motorcycles cool down outside, dinner is already being prepared in the kitchen. Most evenings, except Sundays, a daily menu is served. Think schnitzels, steaks or ribs. Nothing overly complicated, just honest food that feels exactly right after a full day in the saddle.
After an evening walk through Bad Bertrich, along the Ueßbach or into the surrounding woods, it’s time to call it a day. The rooms are simple yet comfortable, each with private facilities. Double, triple and four-person rooms make the hotel suitable for both couples and groups.

A short walk from the village towards the Elfengrotte takes you past streams, forests and hidden corners where the sound of flowing water is never far away.
