Bonvia

Disclaimer & Transparency

About our stories, the way we work, and the choices behind what you read and see here.

At Bonvia, personal experience, research and creativity come together in stories about places, food, people and moments. Every article, recipe and image involves choices. We believe it is important to be open about them. Not because every detail needs explaining, but because readers deserve to understand how our stories are made, how commercial relationships work, and what role photography and AI play in the process.

Disclaimer

The articles, stories, recipes and practical information on Bonvia are intended to inspire, share knowledge and offer ideas. We take care over our content and aim to keep information as accurate and up to date as possible. However, information may be incomplete, outdated or incorrect. Places, products, prices, opening times and circumstances can change.

We therefore cannot guarantee the completeness or accuracy of all published information. You remain responsible for how you use it and for any decisions you make on that basis.

Affiliate links, products and sponsorship

Some articles contain affiliate links. If you buy or book something through one of these links, Bonvia may receive a commission. This does not change the price you pay. These earnings help cover the costs of the magazine and make it possible to continue creating new stories. Where affiliate links appear, we make this clear in or near the relevant content.

From time to time, we may receive a product from a brand, manufacturer or publisher to explore, use or test. Bonvia may also enter into paid partnerships, for example for an editorial project or sponsored feature. When content involves a paid partnership or another relevant commercial relationship, we make this clear alongside the relevant publication.

Receiving a product or payment does not automatically mean an article will be published, nor does it oblige us to write positively about it. We only want to feature products, services and initiatives that genuinely fit Bonvia.

Editorial independence

Bonvia makes its own editorial decisions. A partnership, affiliate relationship or gifted product does not automatically determine what we write or the conclusions we reach. We consider the subject, our own experiences and its relevance to the reader.

We aim to recommend something because it belongs in a story or genuinely adds value, not simply because there is a commercial opportunity. When we share an experience, we aim to represent it honestly. A commercial relationship does not remove our editorial responsibility.

Photography, image editing and AI

Much of the photography and other visual content on Bonvia is our own work. Photographs may be edited to bring out their colour, exposure, composition or atmosphere. Sometimes we combine several photographs into a single image. Such a composite may convey a mood or an idea rather than depict one continuous moment exactly as it happened.

AI can also form part of the creative process. We may use it to edit images, alter elements or create a background. In some cases, generative AI may create a substantial part of an image. We believe it is important to avoid confusion: an image largely created with generative AI is not the same as a photograph directly recording an existing scene. Where AI has played a substantial role in creating or changing an image, we aim to disclose this alongside the image or publication where appropriate.

We use imagery to support a story, place or feeling, while taking care to distinguish between photography, editing, compositing and generative AI.

AI in writing and editing

AI may help me organise ideas, explore different angles, refine wording, translate texts and improve readability. It is a tool in my work, not the owner of the story.

I remain in control of the creative and editorial process and always have the final say over what is published on Bonvia. I assess suggestions, check the text where necessary, and decide whether the content, tone and wording feel right for Bonvia. Responsibility for the final published content and editorial decisions remains with me.

Bonvia should remain recognisable through the curiosity, personal attention and individual perspective behind its stories. AI may support that process, but it does not replace my voice, experiences or responsibility.

Copyright and use of content

Texts, photographs, illustrations and other creative work on Bonvia are created by us or used with permission or under the applicable usage rights. Copyright applies to material for which we hold the rights. Third-party material may also be protected and remains subject to the rights and licences of its respective owners.

You may not copy, distribute, adapt or republish protected content without prior permission, except where permitted by law. If you would like to use something or are unsure about the rights to particular material, please get in touch.

Questions or comments?

Transparency is not a formality to us; it is part of creating stories with care. If you have a question about an article, partnership, image or the use of AI at Bonvia, we would be glad to hear from you.
